In 2015, a group of community partners met and recognized the need for free and accessible healthcare for uninsured adults in Effingham County.
Effingham has high rates of people with high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity. At the same time, there is a lack of public transporation inside the county. There were few options for people who did not have health insurance.
Amber Fordham – Executive Director
Amber Fordham is the Executive Director for Two Rivers . She was previously a board member and came on staff in September 2021. She has worked in nonprofit in Effingham county for almost 20 years. She is wife to Bryan, mom of 4 and loves all things Disney, Broadway and Travel. Her passion in non-profit work is ensuring everyone has equal access to healthcare. Her favorite part of working for Two Rivers is getting to know the volunteers and hearing patient stories.
Susan Harrison – Nurse Practitioner
Susan is a Nurse Practitioner for Two Rivers Health Clinic Also, she has worked nonprofit in Chatham County for approximately 5 years previously. Recently, she worked for Effingham Health System as nurse practitioner. She is married to Macky and has children and grandchildren. She attends Springfield Oaks Church. She enjoys reading, camping, and being with family.
Stephanie Atkins – Patient & Volunteer Coordinator
Stephanie Atkins is the patient and volunteer coordinator for two rivers health clinic. She has worked in healthcare for over 15 years. Stephanie is married to Bryan has 4 children and a step daughter and 3 grandchildren. She enjoys travel and spending time with family.
